Welcome to the first Episode of SUPD Gen Z with my special Guest Lucy Solomon. In an effort to understand as much as we can what young folks are living with and through I will connect with and do one on one interviews with young folks generally ages 19-26. If you know someone who is passionate, opinionated and well spoken that would want to chat send them my way!
My first guest is the daughter of 2 old friends of mine, Jenny and Michael Solomon. Lucy and I had never met and still haven't but we talked 4 times before we finally sat and taped the interview and it was a really great to get to know her. I am so glad that you will now too!
Lucy Solomon is a sophomore studying international relations at American University in Washington, D.C. From a young age, she has followed in her parents' footsteps, being actively involved in philanthropy and social justice work, and demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact on the world. At age 11, Lucy organized her first fundraiser – a benefit concert - and she has been dedicated to working for the causes she cares about ever since. That being said, in most ways Lucy is just like other people her age, and loves concerts, playing tennis, dancing, reading, and hanging out with her friends and family.
Heads up that during our talk today Lucy discusses in detail a horrible sexual assault that she suffered and how she has dealt with and survived the aftermath to better understand the issue and herself.
